Rochdale Borough Council came to us to help them visualise their new 'Healthy Heroes' initiative. The purpose of the initiative is to fight back against childhood obesity, by sharing nutrition and physical activity advice for children and families. It’s their commitment to encouraging healthier living for a healthier borough.
Our first job was to design the 'Healthy Heroes' characters and establish the right look. We initially met with 8 local schools to fully understand what children wanted, in regards to the names and designs for the characters. The superhero family characters led by the mum 'Rochelle' were used to communicate healthy living messages. To join the fight for a healthy borough various downloadable resources were designed to help schools, professionals or organisations that work with children and families. These resources include Healthy Heroes cardboard cut-outs, Rochelle’s Healthy Hero costume, recipe cards, ‘You’re a Healthy Hero’ certificate, goody bags and social media infographics
